Fidelis Ilechukwu, has expressed his deep appreciation for the opportunity to join the Super Eagles coaching crew for this month’s Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
Ilechukwu was recently brought into the Super Eagles’ coaching crew alongside Daniel Ogunmodede of Remo Stars to assist head coach Austin Eguavoen in the upcoming CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
In a statement on his X account, Ilechukwu expressed his gratitude, to NFF for the opportunity.
“A call to serve Nigeria and an opportunity for more hard work — we will never take this for granted. Thank you for the good wishes and the congratulatory messages. I’m humbled.”
Ilechukwu reported to the team’s training camp on Monday, joining a strengthened coaching team.
The Super Eagles’ technical bench has been bolstered by the inclusion of Slovenian fitness trainer Tomaz Zorec, goalkeeper trainer Olatunji Baruwa, and match analyst Eboboritse Uwejamomere.
Nigeria will face Benin Republic this Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Following this fixture, the team will travel to Kigali for their second qualifier against Rwanda, scheduled for Tuesday at the Amahoro Stadium.
