Team Nigeria’s Kayode Alabi has secured his place in the quarter-finals of the Men’s Singles Para-Table Tennis Class 6.
Alabi defeated Romania’s Bobi Simion 3-1 (16-18, 11-7, 5-11, 9-11), booking his spot in the last eight. He will now compete in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
In the Class 5 category, Bolawa Akingbemisilu put up a valiant effort but narrowly missed out on a quarterfinal spot.
He faced Brazil’s Lucas Arabian in a tense five-set match, ultimately losing 3-2 (11-7, 7-11, 11-8, 9-11, 11-8), bringing Akingbemisilu’s journey in the tournament came to an end.
