Ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, the Super Eagles have opened their training camp on Monday, October 2, in Uyo.
Players have begun reporting to camp as preparations kick-off for the important upcoming matches.
The camp will host the 23 invited players who will prepare for the AFCON qualifiers, starting with a match against the Benin Republic on September 7th at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Three days later, the Super Eagles will travel to Kigali for a showdown with the Amavubi (the Wasps) of Rwanda.
The Super Eagles previously suffered a 2-1 loss against Benin Republic in the World Cup qualifiers earlier this year, making this an opportunity for the team to seek revenge against their former coach, Gernot Rohr.
Players in Camp:
As of 10 a.m. on Monday morning, seven players have already arrived in Uyo.
The early arrivals include:
William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, Semi Ajayi, Ademola Lookman, Olisa Ndah, Taiwo Awoniyi, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.
More players, including South Africa-based goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, Victor Osimhen, and former Bendel Insurance goalkeeper Amas Obasogie, are expected to join the camp later today.
