Nigeria’s Falconets took home all three points in 1-0 victory against Korea Republic in their opening match of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
Flourish Sabastine scored the decisive goal in the 86th minute, curling a cross into the net to give Nigeria the lead.
Earlier in the match, Rofiat Imuran came close with a free kick that narrowly missed the target, while Lucky’s shot from a cut-back also went just wide.
South Korea had their best chance in the first half when they hit the crossbar with a free kick.
Next up, The Falconets will face Germany on Wednesday at 11 PM in Bogota to seek a second 3 point and seal qualification to the next round.
