Nigerian footballers Akor Adams and Moses Simon both found the back of the net in the Ligue 1 fixture between Montpellier and Nantes, on Saturday.

Montpellier, hosting Nantes for their third match of the season, fell behind in the 24th minute when Mathias Abline put the visitors ahead.

However, Montpellier quickly responded with Nigerian forward Akor Adams equalizing in the 30th minute with his first goal of the season, a strike that came from his only shot on target.

Nantes regained the lead just before half-time when Moses Simon converted a penalty in stoppage time, making it 2-1.

The second half saw Muhammad Mostapha secure the win for Nantes with a third goal in the 83rd minute.

Simon, who was substituted in the 84th minute, has now scored twice in Nantes’ opening three games of the season.
