Remo Stars secured a slim 2-1 victory over AS FAR in the first leg of their Champions League preliminary round match held in Ikenne on Sunday.

Captain, Junior Nduka scored the opening goal for the Sky Blues in the 19th minute, heading in a cross from right-back Sodiq Ismail. AS FAR equalized shortly after the break with a well-placed header.

Ismail proved decisive once again, netting the winning goal with a header in the 63rd minute.

AS FAR had a chance to level the score late in the game but missed a close-range header.

The second leg will take place next week in Morocco, where Remo Stars will need to avoid defeat to advance to the next round.
