Nigerian champions, Rangers kicked off their CAF Champions League campaign on a winning note, securing a 1-0 away victory against US Zilimadjou of Comoros.

The CAF Champions League qualifying match took place at the Nest of Champions in Uyo, on Sunday.

The decisive goal came in the 22nd minute, courtesy of Frank Uwumiro, giving Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side an early advantage.

Despite creating additional scoring opportunities, Rangers were repeatedly thwarted by the Opponent’s goalkeeper.

The two teams are set to meet again in the reverse fixture next Sunday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
