Former Chelsea legends Didier Drogba and John Mikel Obi are working to persuade Napoli striker Victor Osimhen to join the Premier League club.

Osimhen, whose €130 million release clause poses a significant obstacle, is said to prefer a move to either Arsenal or Paris Saint-Germain, largely due to Chelsea’s absence from the Champions League.

According to a report from Times Sport, Chelsea has enlisted Drogba and Mikel, with the latter revealing his ongoing efforts to convince Osimhen to prioritize a move to Stamford Bridge.

“I hope that Chelsea fans will finally see him come to the club,” Mikel stated. “I’ll make sure I send him those text messages and calls, making sure Chelsea is his top priority.”

Mikel added that Drogba, who is a hero to Osimhen, has also been in contact with the Nigerian star.

“Didier is speaking to him, sharing his own ideas and what the club means to us. We all want to see Victor come to the club. If it happens, it happens. It’s a huge transfer fee, but if we can match it and get him to the club, that would be absolutely fantastic.”
