Following D’Tigress’ impressive performance at the Paris Olympics, where Nigeria’s women’s basketball team reached the quarterfinals, point guard Ezinne Kalu has expressed deep gratitude to Nigerian fans for their unwavering support.
Kalu acknowledged the outpouring of encouragement the team received from fans both in Nigeria and around the world before, during, and after the tournament.
She emphasized how much the support meant to the team, stating that they felt the love and backing every step of the way.
“It’s been amazing, having everyone back home support us. All your messages, calls—we received everything,” Kalu said.
Looking ahead, Kalu also shared her commitment to giving back to Nigerian basketball, particularly focusing on nurturing emerging talents.
While her busy schedule playing overseas might delay her visit, she is determined to return to Nigeria soon to contribute to the development of the sport, especially for young girls.
“My plan is to definitely get to Nigeria as soon as I can just to help out with the development of Nigeria basketball, specifically the young girls,” Kalu added.
“Whether it’s hosting camps, supporting local leagues, or helping with sports development, I want to be involved and contribute wherever I can.”
