Napoli’s star striker, Victor Osimhen, has formally requested to leave the Serie A club this summer, according to Giovanni Manna, one of the club’s directors.

The Nigerian forward, who has not yet featured for Napoli this season under new coach Antonio Conte, has made his intentions clear, prompting the club to explore potential solutions.

Manna confirmed that Napoli is actively considering replacements, with Romelu Lukaku emerging as a top target.

However, any deal for Lukaku hinges on the successful departure of Osimhen.

Reflecting on the situation, Manna revealed that the 25-year-old forward had opportunities to leave the former Italian champions during the previous transfer window, but no serious offers materialized this summer.

“Victor Osimhen has asked to leave the club. He wants to go,” Manna stated. “The situation is clear; there were already chances for his exit last summer. Victor wants to leave. We will see in the next 20 days.”

Osimhen has been linked with several top European clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain, as the transfer window enters its final stages.
