Nigerian hurdler Tobi Amusan is set to begin her quest for an Olympic medal in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Stade de France, today.
Amusan, who finished fourth at the Tokyo Olympics, will compete in the first round and is expected to go all the way.
She won the World Championship two years ago in Oregon, setting a world record in the process, and has also claimed consecutive Diamond League titles, Commonwealth Games gold, and medals at the African Championship and African Games.
The 27-year-old has been in exceptional form this season, including a world-leading time of 12.40 seconds at the Jamaican Athletics Invitational in May.
