Nigeria’s Blessing Oborududu suffered a painful defeat in the semifinals of the women’s 68kg wrestling event at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Oborodudu lost 3-1 on points to 27-year old Kyrgyzstan, Meerim Zhumanazarova.

Following a regrettable head-on collision with her opponent, The 35-year old found it difficult to build momentum, which affected how she performed in the second part of the match.
Oborududu will have another chance to compete for a medal, as she will contest for the bronze on Tuesday.
