Portugal star Rafael Leao has expressed strong support for Samuel Chukwueze, urging the Nigerian winger to carry his impressive pre-season form into the new campaign.

Chukwueze, who joined AC Milan last season, faced challenges in his debut year. He made 23 appearances, score once and provide three assists in the Serie A.

However, he has stood out in pre-season, contributing significantly to the team’s performance.

The Nigerian winger assisted in Milan’s 3-2 win over Manchester City and scored the lone goal in their 1-0 triumph against Real Madrid on Thursday.

Leao praised Chukwueze’s improved confidence and eagerness to make an impact.

“When you don’t play a lot, it becomes difficult to show what you can do, but Chukwueze has shown increased confidence and a desire to make a difference. If he continues this way, he’ll have a great season,” Leao told SOS Fanta.

New Milan head coach Paulo Fonseca also commended Chukwueze’s performance and potential for the upcoming season.
