The Super Falcons have been eliminated from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games following a 3-1 defeat to Japan in their final group game.

Nigeria finished bottom of their group, having lost all three of their matches against Brazil, Spain, and Japan.

Despite showing promise in their matches against Brazil and Spain, the team was hindered by poor finishing.

Jennifer Echegini scored Nigeria’s only goal of the tournament, while the team conceded five goals across their matches.

With their Olympic journey over, the Super Falcons will now focus on preparing for the African Women’s Championship.
