Super Eagles Defender Bright Osayi-Samuel, has shared his experiences working under José Mourinho, who signed a two-year contract with Fenerbahce in June as their head coach.

Since his arrival, Mourinho has been diligently assembling a squad for the upcoming season, identifying Osayi-Samuel as a crucial player.

The Nigerian who joined Fenerbahce in 2021, has become an integral part of the team.

The 26 year-old fullback acknowledged that working with the renowned Portuguese coach has significantly boosted his self-confidence.

“Mourinho is scary but also very nice. It is a great honor to work with him,” Osayi said, according to Fanatik. “I want to learn the history of the players. He instills self-confidence in the player. I think I will learn a lot while working with him this year.”

Osayi-Samuel played 69 minutes in Fenerbahce’s 4-3 victory against Lugano in their first competitive game of the season, indicating a positive start to his relationship with Mourinho.

Fenerbahce will face Lugano in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round.
