Former D’Tigress player, Mfon Udoka, praised the Nigerian women’s basketball team for their impressive victory over Australia in their first group game at the Olympic Games in Paris.

In an interview with Brila.net, Udoka commended the team’s determination and hard work. She warned the team of challenging nature of the upcoming games and that any team can be beaten on any given day.

“Amazing win by a bunch of resilient women who play so hard and that is the Nigerian spirit. That’s the way we’ve always played. It’s just so great to see a win like this,” she said.

“I think just moving forward you got to really take it one game at a time and not to overlook anybody. France is going to be tough. Canada will probably be tough too.”

“It doesn’t really matter. You don’t know who’s going to show up that day. Anybody can be beaten on any day. So just keep up. Keep doing what you’re doing and I think everybody is so excited and it’s great to have the support and the nation behind them,” she concluded.
