Wakama Picks Final Roster for Paris 2024 Olympic Games

Head coach of the Nigeria Women’s basketball national team, D’Tigress, Rena Wakama has named the final roster heading to Paris 2024 for the Olympic Games.

Leading the squad are forward Amy Okonkwo and guard Ezinne Kalu. The team also features key players Elizabeth Balogun and Promise Amukamara.

Completing the roster are Lauren Ebo, Nicole Enabosi, Murjanatu Musa, Ifunaya Okoro, Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpannah, Blessing Ejiofor, Olaoluwatomi Taiwo, and Adebola Adeyeye.

Notably, Adenike Olawuyi, Alimat Abiola, and Sarah Ogoke did not make the final cut.

D’Tigress arrived in Lille, France, on Monday to play their last test game ahead of the Olympic Games which commences on Friday.

In their Germany camp, D’Tigress played two warm-up games against the German national team, followed by a match in Belgrade against Serbia.

The team suffered defeats in both encounters, losing 77-63 to Germany and 70-62 to Serbia.

Today, D’Tigress are set to play a friendly match against Japan in Lille as part of their final preparations for the Olympic Games.
