Friendly Against Canada to Test Super Falcons’ Readiness – Waldrum
59
Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum views the upcoming international friendly against Olympic champions Canada as a key test for his team’s preparation for the Olympic Games.
Speaking ahead of the match, Waldrum stated that while the result is important, the primary focus is on assessing the players’ readiness and the effectiveness of their training strategies.
“They’re the defending Olympic gold medalists and, you know, playing them in Australia. We know we’re up against a good side, but it’ll be a good measuring stick for us,” he said.
Waldrum also said that the match offers an opportunity to test various players’ forms, especially those returning from injuries or long seasons.
“We have a few players that are coming back from injury, from their club seasons, and we’ll have to manage their time.”
“Every time we step on the field, we want to win. We want to keep that momentum going. You know, you want to get a result, but we also have to be careful,” Waldrum concluded.
“We’ll be looking at it more from a standpoint of how they performed, not the result.”
