Nigerian forward Cyriel Dessers has confirmed his commitment to Rangers, dispelling ongoing rumours about a potential transfer.

The 29-year-old forward has affirmed his desire to stay at Ibrox amidst ongoing speculation about his future and potential transfers.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Dessers was included in Philippe Clement’s squad for the club’s training camp in the Netherlands.

He also played a role in the Gers’ recent 2-1 loss to Ajax Amsterdam on Saturday at Sportpark Mulderssingel.

In an interview with Ziggo Sport Voetbal via Footballtransfers following Rangers’ pre-season match against Ajax, Dessers acknowledged receiving interest from other clubs.

However, he emphasized his strong desire to remain at Ibrox.

“I am very happy here, so I would like to stay,” Dessers said.

Addressing the reported interest from other clubs, he added, “There is some interest, but my intention is to stay and then we will see what happens.”

Last season, Dessers was instrumental for the team as he scored 22 goals and provided 9 assists in 54 appearances.

Clubs that have shown interest in him include PAOK, Cagliari, and various teams in Spain, France, and Saudi Arabia.

Dessers, who joined Rangers on a four-year deal last summer, hopes to make a significant impact when the season begins on August 3, with the first fixture away against Hearts.

However, he must first convince manager Philippe Clement during this pre-season, starting with a huge game against Manchester United on Saturday.
