Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti has clarified why the club chose not to sign striker Victor Osimhen last summer, despite being linked with the player multiple times.
In the 2022/23 Serie A season Osimhen had a standout campaign with Napoli, scoring 26 goals in 32 matches and leading them to the Scudetto.
Real Madrid, having lost star forward Karim Benzema to Saudi club Al Ittihad, were among those interested in the Nigerian striker.
However, Ancelotti revealed in a recent interview that the club opted to sign Jude Bellingham instead, believing he could fill the void left by Benzema.
“No, we didn’t sign Osimhen because I think the club thought that Benzema’s absence could be remedied by purchasing Jude Bellingham,” Ancelotti explained.
