Former Super Eagles manager Finidi George has returned to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Rivers United has officially appointed George as their new Head Coach following successful negotiations.
Finidi’s appointment comes after discussions with the State Governor and Club Chairman, culminating in the signing of all necessary documents.
The ex-Ajax Amsterdam and Real Betis star is set to be unveiled soon.
Finidi George previously led Enyimba to a league title before his brief tenure as the Super Eagles’ Head Coach.
His stint with the national team ended after two months, following a directive from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) that he would be demoted to an assistant role with a foreign technical adviser set to take over.
Tasked with revitalizing Rivers United, George aims to restore the team to its former glory and position it among the top contenders in the NPFL after a disappointing last season.
