Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre is making strides in her recovery from an ankle injury and could be fit for the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Plumptre, who has been sidelined since sustaining the injury in March, missed Nigeria’s crucial Olympic Games qualifiers against South Africa.

Following her injury, the former Leicester City player underwent surgery and has been recuperating ever since.

The 26-year-old recently provided a positive update on her recovery via her social media.

Plumptre posted videos of training session with fitness and rehabilitation coach Warren Williams on Instagram, signaling progress in her journey back to full fitness.

With the Olympic Games scheduled to commence in July, Plumptre aims to be fully fit, and part of coach Randy Waldrum’s team.

Plumptre, has earned 22 caps for the Super Falcons since switching allegiance from England.

She had impressive performances at the last African Women’s Championship and the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Her return to the squad is highly anticipated as Nigeria eyes Olympic success.
