Finidi Lacked Time with Super Eagles – Nduka

Former Nigeria U-17 MNT head coach Nduka Ugbade has commented on Finidi George’s performance with the Super Eagles, attributing it to insufficient time.

Speaking on “No Holds Barred with Ifeanyi Udeze” on Brila FM, Ugbade stated that Finidi wasn’t given enough time to implement his strategies and that various circumstances affected the team’s performance.

“It’s not a bad thing that Finidi was appointed as super eagles chief head coach because a lot of talks had gone.

“The appointment was good but appointment is different from performance, you look at the situation that surrounds his performance and how there is no time for him to be able to input a lot of things within the team,” Ugbade said.

He further added “Senior national team job is not only to about professional players, the coach that is going to come must establish his own philosophy and his methods of achieving it and it takes days of months.

This is why jobs cannot be taking today and you think that tomorrow morning things changes.”

The Super Eagles are currently without a coach following Finidi’s resignation.

According to reports, the Nigeria Football Federation is in talks with the former Côte d’Ivoire coach, Hervé Renard.
