Nigerian sprinter Kanyinsola Ajayi has secured a spot in the men’s 100m final at the African Championships.
Ajayi, currently Nigeria’s fastest man, finished second in his semifinal race with a time of 10.03 seconds.
The race was won by Cote d’Ivoire’s Ismael Kone.
Pre-race favorite Letsile Tebogo of Botswana was disqualified after a false start.
Ajayi, who claimed the 100m title during Nigeria’s Olympic trials, will now aim to add a continental medal to his achievements.
