Spanish Iberdrola side Sevilla Feminine has announced the departure of Nigeria’s Super Falcons midfielder Toni Payne after six years with the club.

Payne joined Sevilla from Dutch club Ajax and quickly established herself as a key player on the team.

The 29-year-old scored 30 goals and provided 20 assists in 181 appearances across all competitions for the team.

Sevilla confirmed her departure on their Instagram handle on Thursday, extending their best wishes.

“Thank you, Toni. Fast, explosive, and talented, @Sevilla hand growth Nigeria has one more Sevillian forever. Good luck,” the club stated.

Payne was part of the Super Falcons squad at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Having made 14 appearances for the African champions, Payne is expected to be part of the team at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.
