Nwabali Will Not Return Next Season, Chippa United Boss Confirms

Chippa United’s goalkeeper coach Sean Louw has confirmed that Stanley Nwabali will be leaving the club in the coming months.

Nwabali has attracted interest from several clubs following his outstanding performances for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper kept 12 clean sheets in all competitions last season for Chippa United.

“On physical hard copy paper, I don’t know how many offers he has received, but verbally, he has around 10 or even 12 offers,” Louw confirmed.

“He is definitely not coming back to Chippa next season,” Louw told FarPost.

Louw also noted that Nwabali has made significant improvements in his game since arriving in South Africa.

“When [Nwabali] arrived at Chippa, he wasn’t very proficient with his footwork, unable to play from the back. However, he has improved his footwork significantly,” Louw added.

The Nigerian joined Chippa United from Nigerian side Katsina United.
