Favour Ashe claimed second place in the men’s 100m with an impressive time of 9.99 seconds in thrilling finale at the NCAATF Championship on Friday.
Ashe, who is in peak form this season, has now recorded his fourth sub-10-second finish, solidifying his position atop the Nigerian all-time list for sub-10-second performances.
Kanyinsola Ajayi, Ashe’s teammate, ran a personal best of 10.01 seconds, securing third place but narrowly missing the automatic Olympic qualification mark.
Another Nigerian sprinter, Godson Brume, finished close behind in fourth with a time of 10.02 seconds.
The race was won by Louie Hinchliffe, who delivered a stunning performance to clinch the 100m title with a new personal best of 9.95 seconds.
