Nigeria vs South Africa: We Are Ready to Win — Ndidi

  • Nigeria and South Africa will clash on Friday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium

  • Finidi needs a win to ensure Nigeria’s WCQ campaign is back on track

  • Both Coaches will be without some important players due to injury

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi says the team is motivated to get a victory against South Africa in their 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier on Friday.

Nigeria has faced a difficult start in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with draws against Lesotho and Zimbabwe leaving them without a victory so far.

With the pressure mounting, Ndidi stressed that the game must be approached with the right mental attitude, if they are to emerge victorious against Hugo Broos’ formidable side.

“Nobody needs to tell us that we did not start the campaign well enough,” said the midfielder. “The opportunity has arisen to take our fate in our hands and rise to strong contention in our pool.

“We will approach Friday’s encounter with the right mental attitude,” Ndidi told thenff.com.

Scheduled to take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, the highly anticipated match is set to kick off at 8 pm Nigeria time.
