Enyimba FC forward, Mfon Udoh has said he expects strong competition in the home-based Eagles’ squad getting set for the African Nations Championship qualifier against the Squirrels of Benin.
Udoh is the record goals scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League, having raked in 23 goals in the 2014/2015 season and is currently one of the top scorers this term with 11 goals for his Aba-based side.
The Akwa Ibom-born star believes the players invited are of a high quality and will give the coaches a selection headache, ironically.
“All invited players are very good and consistent. Selection shouldn’t be a problem because any of the 30 players can represent Nigeria very well,” he told AOIFootball.com.
The former Akwa United forward is also optimistic the eventually selected players will be good enough to knock out the Squirrels of Benin when both sides trade tackles in August for a slot in Kenya next January.
“I know we have the qualities to evict Benin and I am very optimistic we’ll qualify,” he concluded.
