Oliseh Expresses Disappointment Over Dortmund’s UCL Defeat

  • Sunday Oliseh won the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund

  • Dortmund have lost two UCL finals in 2013 and 2024

  • Real Madrid won their 15th UCL Trophy

The 2024 season culminated with the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday night, with Borussia Dortmund against Real Madrid.

Despite Dortmund’s dominant first-half performance, which saw them squander significant chances, the German side succumbed to pressure and conceded two goals in the second half, resulting in a 2-0 victory for Real Madrid.

Former Nigerian and Dortmund midfielder Sunday Oliseh has expressed his sadness following the Club’s defeat to Real Madrid.

Oliseh, who played for Borussia Dortmund between 2000 and 2004 after departing Juventus, is among the few Nigerians to have donned the club’s jersey.

“Sad that my club BVB Dortmund could not lift the Champions League trophy today after putting up a good fight, but the quality of the Real Madrid players and the tactical and personnel changes Carlo Ancelotti made in the 2nd half made the difference,” he said.

The German side succumbed to the Spanish champions, with goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Junior sealing the victory for Real Madrid.
