The BAL: Odaudu Anticipates Tough Against Al Ahly

Following their hard-fought victory over former BAL champions US Monastir, head coach of Rivers Hoopers Ogoh Odaudu, said his side still has a lot to do if they are to win the 2024 Basketball Africa League.

The Nigerian club clinched a spot in the semi-finals; their first-ever semi-final berth in the tournament, winning 92-88 in a very close quarter-final match at BK Arena in Kigali.

“All the teams that made it to the playoffs are practically on the same level,” Odaudu said.

“Every game is going to be difficult. You don’t expect to come at this level and blow a team.

“All the teams are fighting tooth and nail. It’s just the quality of the game that is really high. The players are good and we are really happy that we won the game,” he told the press.

Odaudu said the team is already gearing up for what promises to be a tough semi-final clash against Libya’s Al Ahly.

” They’ll be very difficult to beat,” the Rivers Hoopers coach replied when asked.

The game will take place on Wednesday, 29th May, at the BK Arena, Kigali, Rwanda.
