Nigerian sprinter Tima Godbless blazed through the women’s 200m heats at the NCAA East Regionals in Lexington, setting a new personal best of 22.88 seconds (+0.1).

Despite finishing third in her heat, Godbless’ remarkable performance secured her a spot in the semifinals, marking her first time breaking the 23-second barrier in her career.

Her achievement solidifies her place among Nigeria’s elite sprinters, joining the ranks of Favour Ofili (22.33), Praise Idamadudu (22.81), Victoria Aransiola (22.87), and Rosemary Chukwuma (22.90) as the fifth Nigerian woman to accomplish this feat in 2024.
