Ajax and Vitesse Pay Tribute to Tijani Babangida After Family Tragedy

Dutch football clubs Ajax Amsterdam and Vitesse extended their condolences to former player Tijani Babangida, who recently suffered the tragic loss of his son and brother in an auto accident.
Before their match, Ajax players expressed their love and solidarity for the former winger.
In a poignant moment just before kickoff, players from both teams held a banner that read:
“Dear Baba, this is for you, from the players and everyone at Ajax. We are with you.”
Additionally, Babangida received an emotional video message from his former coach, Louis van Gaal, offering further comfort during this difficult time.
Tijani Babangida played for Ajax Amsterdam from 1996 to 2003 with whom he won three major honors.
His career in the Netherlands also included a brief stint with Vitesse, as well as time with VVV-Venlo and Roda JC, spanning a total of nine years in Dutch football.
