Leverkusen Director Describes Tella Impact in Title Victory
49
Bayer Leverkusen sporting director, Simon Rolfes has lauded Nathan Tella for his remarkable resilience and contributions to the team.
Tella, who joined the newly crowned Bundesliga champions from Southampton last summer, initially faced challenges adapting to his new environment.
Despite a rocky start, the Nigerian has settled in well at the BayArena, helping the club to their first Bundesliga title.
Rolfes, speaking to TalkSport, highlighted Tella’s journey and his growing influence within the team.
“Nathan Tella came late in the transfer window in August and he needed time to adapt.
“He was always ambitious to develop himself and also to give good energy to the team and towards the team,” Rolfes stated.
“Now he’s getting much more minutes than at the beginning of the season. That’s also a success story for himself and also for the team.”
The 24-year-old winger has made a significant impact this season, scoring 12 goals and providing seven assists across all competitions for Die Werkself.
