Joe Aribo and his Southampton teammates have booked their place in Wembley for the final of the EFL Championship playoff.
Aribo featured in the Saints’ second leg match against West Brom at St. Mary’s.
After a goalless first leg at the Hawthorns, Russell Martin’s men ran riot, cruising to a 3-1 victory.
The first half ended goalless, but after the game resumed Southampton broke the deadlock through William Smallbone (49′), Arnold Armstrong hit a double including one from the spot (78′ and 86′ PK).
West Brom pulled one back late in the game when Ivory Coast’s Cedric Kipre scored in additional time.
Carlos Corberan left Oluwasemilogo Ajayi on the bench this time around, and the Nigerian CB featured for 10 minutes in total during the playoff.
