Finidi George outlined the stringent conditions under which he would consider inviting players to join the national team, shedding light on the criteria he plans to employ in player selection.
Finidi disclosed that players vying for a spot in the Super Eagles must play regularly for their club.
The 53-year-old added that players must show unwavering dedication and commitment to the national team’s cause.
“Selection of players? You have to be playing at your club and you must have that commitment.
“We all said the pledge and for me as a coach, that’s what I’m going to do. For me, Nigeria is first because I have been out of this country and I know the treatment we get outside of this country.
“I put Nigeria first and that is the same commitment and loyalty from each and every player that is invited. If you can do that, you are good to go,” He said.
With Finidi George at the helm, the Super Eagles look poised for a new era characterized by stringent selection standards and a renewed focus on excellence ahead of the FIFA World cup qualifiers in June.
