The Nigerian U17 women’s football team, the Flamingos, has embarked on a journey to Mali on Thursday.
Under the leadership of Bankole Olowookere, will face their Burkina Faso counterparts at the Stade 26 March on Saturday.
This is the first leg of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup third-round qualifying fixture.
With Coach Olowookere at the helm, the team engaged in several friendlies in Abuja before their departure.
Following their showdown in Mali, the Flamingos will return to familiar territory as they prepare to host the reverse fixture at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja a week later.
The team is favourite to qualify for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.
