Paris FC goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has credited her teammates and coaches for their support throughout the season after clinching women’s goalkeeper award in France.
Nnadozie made history by becoming the first African player to win the prestigious Best Goalkeeper award in the French D1 women’s league.
Her remarkable achievement comes after an outstanding season where she played a pivotal role in FC Paris’ success.
She edged out tough competition from top goalkeepers such as Christiane Endler of Olympic Lyon and Katarzyna Kiedrzynek of Paris SG to claim the coveted individual accolade.
In her acceptance speech, Nnadozie expressed her appreciation for the recognition and highlighted the importance of teamwork in her success.
“I’m delighted for this award, no be honest I never expected it. But I want to thank my teammates for the support, because it wouldn’t have been possible without them.
“Like in training, they kept on pushing me to go for the award. Also the club president and coaches. This award is for FC Paris.”
The Nigerian international has saved seven penalties – the highest tally in Europe this season.
