Aruna Quadri Set for Tough Challenge At 2024 ITTF World Cup

Nigeria’s Aruna Quadri, has been drawn into Group 15 of the upcoming men’s 2024 ITTF World Cup Macao.

Quadri will face off against formidable opponents, including Portugal’s Marcos Freitas and Puerto Rico’s Daniel Gonzalez, in his group stage matches.

 

The Nigerian will kick start his campaign against Freitas on Monday, April 15, and conclude the group stage with a match against Gonzalez on Tuesday, April 16.

Having made history as the first and only African player to reach the quarter-finals stage of the prestigious tournament, Aruna aims to make his mark once again on the international stage.

In addition to Aruna, Egypt’s Omar Assar, Ahmed Saleh, and Mohamed El-Beiali are also gearing up for their challenges.

Assar will compete in Group 16 against Sweden’s Truls Moregard and Iran’s Noshad Alamiyan, while Saleh faces tough competition in Group 11 against former European champion Dan Qui of Germany and Japan’s Shunsuke Togami. El-Beiali finds himself in Group 9.

 

The tournament features 48 players divided into 16 groups of three players each, with the group winners advancing to the second stage of the competition.
