African Games: Nigeria blitz to Gold in Mixed 4x400m, Set African Record

Nigeria’s mixed 4x400m relay team clinched gold, Tuesday, inside the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, at the ongoing African Games.

Led by Emmanuel Ojeli, Patience Okon-George, Samson Nathaniel, and Omolara Ogunmankinju, the quartet blazed their way to an African record in 3:13:26 beating Botswana (NR) and Kenya.

 

 

Earlier in the semi-finals, Team Nigeria had set a game’s record clocking 3:15.23.

Meanwhile, second placed Botswana and South Africa, who finished fourth, set new National Records clocking 3:13:99 and 3:18:54 respectively.

Ghana, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia and Namibia crossed the finish line in that order.
