Ladan Bosso’s side went in front with an impressive striker from Charles Agada in the second minute. The advantage lasted for 20 minutes the young Terenga Lions restored parity through Idrissa Gueye. Senegal then went ahead for the first time five minutes later with Gueye scoring once again. Chibueze Izuogu then leveled the tie for Nigeria, five minutes into the second half, but won it with their third goal in the 65th minute. Following the defeat, Flying Eagles have been eliminated from the competition, finishing third in Group B with just a win from three matches.
