Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen, forward Victor Boniface is on the verge of making a comeback after a two-month absence due to an adductor injury.

Head Coach Xabi Alonso, speaking ahead of the upcoming clash against Qarabag, expressed confidence in Boniface’s recovery.

Alonso anticipates the Nigerian sensation, who leads the club in scoring this season, to make his return by the end of March.

This timeline positions Boniface to potentially feature in the crucial Bundesliga encounter against Hoffenheim on March 30, following the international break.

The 22-year-old suffered the injury during Nigeria’s preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations, but has surpassed expectations by resuming running duties ahead of schedule, raising hopes for his swift return to the pitch.

Should the Hoffenheim match come too soon, there is a possibility of Boniface making a comeback in the DFB Pokal clash against Fortuna Düsseldorf on April 3.

With 24 goal contributions across 23 games in all competitions, his impact has been pivotal for Bayer Leverkusen.
