Akinkunmi Amoo has officially terminated his contract with Cypriot First Division club, Omonia Nicosia.

The decision comes after a mere six months since the 21-year-old winger inked a three-year deal in hopes of revitalizing his career.

Despite the initial optimism surrounding the move, both Amoo and the Cypriot giants have reportedly reached a mutual agreement to conclude their professional relationship.

Amoo, who previously played for Sweden’s Hammarby IF and Denmark’s FC Copenhagen, failed to find the back of the net in his six appearances for Omonia Nicosia.

This unexpected development marks a setback for the young Nigerian, who had represented the nation at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Tanzania and was also part of the Super Eagles squad at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
