We Missed Them! Fulham Boss Hails Old Trafford Heroes
63
Fulham manager Marco Silva attributes his team’s victory over Manchester United to the notable presence of Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey.
Silva said his side missed the players during their stint with Nigeria at the Africa Nations Cup in January.
The duo were pivotal in securing Fulham’s first away win against Manchester United since 2003 on Saturday.
Fulham clinched a 2-1 win at old Trafford with Bassey’s opener, countered by Harry Maguire, and Iwobi sealing the points with a late goal in stoppage time on Saturday.
“The two players [Bassey and Iwobi] that were at the Africa Cup [of Nations]. And that we miss them,” Silva told BeINSports after the game.
“They were decisive in terms of the goals. It just shows how they are important for us in the way I want to play, in our way.
“It is really nice to see both scoring goals and helping us to win,” He concluded.
