Big Defeats for Super Eagles Stars on PL Return

In their first appearances back from the Africa Cup of Nations, Super Eagles stars Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi, and Calvin Bassey faced disappointment as their respective clubs endured losses in the Premier League.

Onyeka, experienced a 4-1 defeat with Brentford against table-toppers Liverpool.

Coming off the bench, the Midfielder was introduced in the 63rd minute, only to receive a yellow card shortly after for a challenge on Ibrahima Konate.

Meanwhile, Iwobi, another Super Eagles standout performer in Cote d’Ivoire, entered the pitch as a halftime substitute for Fulham in their clash against Aston Villa.

His teammate, Calvin Bassey, also returning from international duty, saw action as a substitute for the Cottagers, joining the fray with fifteen minutes remaining.

Fulham, however, succumbed to a 2-1 loss at home against Aston Villa.

With eyes set on their next matches, the trio will be keen to secure starting positions and help their clubs bounce back from recent defeats.
