Vicky Lopez, the talented midfielder with eligibility for Nigeria, has earned her first call-up to the Spanish senior women’s national team.
Lopez, who currently plays for Barcelona, will join Spain for their UEFA Women’s Nations League semi-final against the Netherlands at the Estadio Olimpico de Sevilla.
Born in Madrid to a Spanish father and a Nigerian mother, Lopez previously represented Spain at the U-17 level.
At the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, the midfielder was awarded the Golden Ball for an outstanding performance in the tournament.
Meanwhile, the call-up could mean an end to any hopes of the youngster significantly playing for Nigeria.
