The Argentina Football Association have revealed plans for two international friendlies against Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire scheduled for March this year.
Nigeria will swiftly return to action after the conclusion of its campaign at the Africa Cup of Nations, which ends in February.
The Argentine national team announced the fixtures as part of their tour of Asia, set for March.
La Albiceleste will face Côte d’Ivoire and particularly Nigeria in an encounter that’ll open another chapter in their dramatic rivalry.
Notably, Nigeria and Argentina were drawn in the same group at four World Cup tournaments; 1994, 2002, 2014 and 2018.
Despite Nigeria’s efforts, they have often fallen short against the Argentine squad in these encounters.
This sets the stage for a compelling matchup between the two nations once again.
The said clash has been relocated to the Guangdong Olympics Centre Stadium in China.
Initially planned to be held in Japan, the match will now take place at the Aoti Main Stadium in Guangdong – China’s second largest Stadium.
Meanwhile, the exact date for the friendly in March is yet to be determined.
