Osimhen needs to get his confidence back — Udeze

Former Super Eagles left back, Ifeanyi Udeze says Victor Osimhen is struggling for confidence following his lack of goals at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.

Osimhen has just one goal in three group games, despite starting all the matches.

Although the Striker is guilty of missing two big chances in the first game against Equatorial Guinea, but he’s not getting proper service from his teammates.

According to Udeze, Osimhen is not happy with his current contribution and want to deliver more for the team.

“For me, Osimhen is under pressure; that’s why he is trying everything possible to score,” Udeze said on Brila FM’s Breakfast show “No Holds Barred”.

“The pressure is affecting him and I think his confidence level has dropped a little bit whenever he faces the opponent goalpost, so he needs to get his confidence back.”

Osimhen scored ten goals in the qualifiers for the tournament and the 25-year-old will be hoping to find his mojo back as the tournament progresses.

The Super Eagles will confront Cameroon for a place in the quarter-final on Saturday.
