Nigeria will play two pre-tournament friendlies ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The three-time African Champions will trade tackles with Burkina Faso and Cape Verde in January to get the team ready for the tournament.

Both games are likely to give coach Jose Peseiro idea of what to expect from AFCON group opponents Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea Bissau.

Nigeria will begin camping for the tournament in Saudi Arabia from Friday December 29, with Peseiro expected to name his final 27-man squad from 44 provisional list on January 3.

The team will start their campaign against Equatorial Guinea on January 14, at the Ebimpe Olympic Stadium before clashing with hosts Ivory Coast four days later.

On January 22, they play their final group A game against Guinea Bissau.
