Dessers sends Rangers Through to Europa League Second Round

Cyriel Dessers shone like a million stars in Rangers’ spectacular away win over Real Betis in the Europa League on Thursday.

Dessers recorded a goal and assist as Scottish Giants Glasgow Rangers pulled off a shocking 2-3 win at Real Betis.

The Nigerian forward, who has struggled to find a consistent form since joining from Cremonese, was the star of the show for the Philippe Clement’s side in Seville.

The match offered quite a spectacle, and within twenty minutes three goals had already been scored.

Abdallah Sima gave the Rangers the lead after ten minutes, following a quick exchange with Dessers but Juan Miranda quickly restored parity for the home team.

However, Cyriel Dessers restored the visitors lead with an exquisite finish after skipping past two players.

The 28-year-old now has a goal and an assist in five Europa League game for the Gers.

Real Betis found their way back into the game with second equalizer from Ayoze Pérez equalized before half-time.

It was Rangers who came out on top with a superb winning strike from ex-RSC Anderlecht man Kemar Roofe who scored the winning goal after eighty minutes of play.

Rangers finish first in the group, while Betis drops to the Conference League.
